Report from Okinawa #10

Here we are with our last news from Okinawa.

Yannick wrote the last mail telling that Sensei Yogi gave yesterdays’ first lesson. They practiced five Bo-Katas as recognised by the OKDR (Okinawa Kobudo Doushi Renseikai). All of the students got a lot of helpful hints for practicing them at home. At the end of the lesson Sensei Gakiya presented every participant with a certificate for this stay.
The last lesson for this years’ stay on Okinawa was given by Shihan Jhonny Bernaschewice in the art of Chi Ryu Aiki-Jitsu. At the afternoon the students practiced the programme for the 4. Kyu (orange). After having done the basics they practiced every single technique from this programme with four different complex techniques. By doing so they gained a lot of experience in terms of how to use the basic techniques properly and enlarge them into complex ones. Having finished the last training everyone rushed on Naha’s shopping street no.1 – Kokusai dori – in order to buy little presents for those who had to stay at home or just for remembering this years’ stay.
Today at 7.40 p.m. they will departure from the airport in Naha. After a stop in Taipeh they will hopefully arrive in Frankfurt at 6.40 a.m. tomorrow. We wish them a save flight.
This time it is the end of the story. No “stay tuned….”. No “to be continued”. However, next year we will have a new trip. If you are interested feel free to contact our office (contact datas on the right) for further information on Okinawa 2010!
Update at 5.18 p.m.: News in between from Yannick – they landed in Taipeh about 1 hour ago. By this time they will be on their flight to Frankfurt.

It’s been a fantastic story! I’d bet it made everyone dream of going to Okinawa one day, it surely did that to me 😉

    Best Regards,

Thanks for your comment 🙂 Our goal is to make students curious about what Okinawa could be like for them. Therefore, we tried to provide a kind of “real-time reporting” to transfer the “Okinawa feeling” to Europe. News about next year’s trip will be provided soon!

    Best regards,
    Kathrin
