Report from Okinawa #5

Here we are again with news from Okinawa…
On Thursday the group started with Kobudo under supervision of Sensei Yogi. They practiced different Bo-Katas. Among them were Kata Syushi no Kun, Kata Choun no Kun and Kata Sakugawa no Kun. Sensei Yogi is known for his gracious art of teaching and everyone enjoyed this lesson.

After a short break the students who have an advanced knowledge in Kobudo practiced Shinbaru no Sai whereas the beginners continued their training with Shihan Bernaschewice. Besides the Kobudo training Sensei Yogi taught Yannick some Katas from the Karate style of Konan Ryu.
At afternoon the whole group was taught by Shihan Bernaschewice in the art of Chi Ryu Aiki-Jitsu. Main topics were the practicing of throws (Sumi gaeshi, Yoko otoshi) as well as techniques from different levels in Chi Ryu Aiki-Jitsu.

The Friday morning started with Kobudo. After practicing the basic techniques of the Hojo undo dai ichi, ni and san the students deepened their knowledge in five different Bo-Katas.

After lunch the group continued their training in the art of Chi Ryu Aiki-Jitsu. Shihan Bernaschewice started with different techniques, Sensei Hans Roos continued with the teaching of throws and Sensei Soraya Valleret ended the session with the teaching of excellent kick-techniques. All in all a very intensive day.

Thanks to Yannick Schultze who reports from Okinawa on a regular basis we are able to provide the latest news here. Some pictures were sent by him. We have added them here. However, Shihan Bernaschewice submitted some pictures, too. Therefore report #1 has been updated.
