Shodan examinations in Okinawa Kobudo

Just a few weeks have been passing by since Yamashiro Kenichi Sensei (Komesu Yamashiro Dojo) has taught Okinawa Kobudo at the Hombo Dojo in Belgium. He was able to get a view on the way Okinawa Kobudo is spread throughout Europe and he has worked with our Instructors during his visit. It was a unique experience for all and now we are back to “normal” at the dojo. But, how “normal” can a visit to the dojo be when preparing for an examination in Okinawa Kobudo?

Our students from Liestal (Switzerland) have been visiting the dojo on a regular basis and have been working for 2 years in order to prepare for their examination. So their visit was everything but “normal”.Elidio Moraglia, Willi Zimmermann, Regula Ganz and Sabine Ott have proven their skills in Okinawa Kobudo in front of Shihan Kathrin Siggelkow. Not only did they performed their techniques according to program of the school but all of them showed extraordinary skills to promote Okinawa Kobudo in their dojo in Switzerland.

They are the first in Switzerland to achieve the level of Sensei and Instructor for Okinawa Kobudo within the Federation Geido Tao Chi Kihon and we are more than happy to finally have found trustworthy students to promote the art of Okinawa Kobudo.

Congratulations with your achievements!
