Arrival on Okinawa 2016

Today was the day of arrival for most of the students including Shihan Jhonny. We all came via different routes with only one goal in mind: OKINAWA

All of us moved into the new minshuku which is very nice, modern and comfortable. Those of you who knew the old one will miss the tatami on the floor or the toaster in the common room available for everyone. However, most of you will say we live a luxurious life now. We have Wifi in our rooms, the possibility to have breakfast in the café adjoining the minshuku just to mention some of the advantages.

Afterwards Shihan Jhonny, Yamashiro Sensei and Nakayama San talked about the schedule of this training camp. Then there was only one thing left to do… get FOOOOOOD into our hungry stomachs. After a short walk into the center of Naha we arrived at the restaurant. Every year the training camp is put into motion by visiting the same restaurant. All of those students who had been to Okinawa previously already knew what to choose and the other students could count on their help with choosing what they thought looked best on the menu. Jhonny was in love with Okinawa Soba and Peter chose his vegetarian dish with tofu and egg.

While some of us simply dropped exhausted into their beds, others went for a walk on Kokusai-dori in order to round off the day. Maybe some of us are dreaming about the training tomorrow or simply about the breakfast … we’ll see.
